Have a blessed 2009!
and always keep you
May heaven’s light shine
on all that you do.
May health and happiness
come your way
And love fill your heart
throughout each day.
Have a blessed 2009!

My Green Christmas
I never wished for a White Christmas. You know, the type where you’d spend the holidays in a snowy region. Sure, it would be nice to experience that but it’s okay if I never do. This year though, I can say I had a ‘green’ Christmas. By ‘green’ I mean eco-friendly and ‘tipid’ as I didn’t spend much on ribbons and gift wrappers.
I started using Starbucks papers and brochures as wrappers last year and I collected more this 2008. Whenever I’d do to the famous coffee shop, I’d deliberately hoard the brochures for me to keep. Haha! Not really hoard but just get one or two of each design. I even got a few during my trip to Singapore.
So I did use them. I used all of them actually and I wasn’t even halfway wrapping my gifts when my cousin Joseph gave me a stack of ‘em. I was so relieved when he gave me the brochures because I still had a lot of stuff to wrap. Apart from the Starbucks-brochures-turned-wrappers, I also used my stock of microwavable plastic containers as ‘boxes’ and yeah, to finally dispose them. I used the black ribbons used in our cash envelopes during our January and two rolls of yellow ribbon we used for the souvenirs. I also used the back of the envelope with a butterfly sticker as a gift tag. The only thing making my presents Christmas-ey are the red ribbons I bought in Daiso in SG for $2.
I still used Christmas-themed gift wrappers this year but only bought a few. I think I only spent less than a dollar for those as compared to the past years I’d spent hundreds of bucks just for the wrappers and tags. I realized that buying such isn’t practical so I thought of a way to save and still make my gifts more presentable. Well, I’m proud to say I did. ![]()
