What does it mean to be so deep in the Lord?

August 08, 2008 By: Reah Category: faith No Comments →

Is it when a person has lots of good, godly things to say? Says a really touching prayer? Making him or her sound as if she’s read the Bible from cover to cover but seems to be so into the “world” and yet is not satisfied and disappoints God and the body and harbors hatred in his/her heart?

Or is it when a person is silent about his or her faith yet is obvious that the Word is applied in his/her life?

I’m all for the second statement. But then again , there is GRACE.

So, what does it mean to be so deep in the Lord for you?

They Grow Up so Fast

I saw this pic from Tita Mercy’s Multiply. Some of the kids here are already adults. I remember babysitting for them and teaching them in Sunday School…and now, I am already ministering WITH them.

Success without God

June 04, 2008 By: Reah Category: faith No Comments →

Success without God is like food without flavor. Being successful in everything you do does not always mean God’s presence still is or was there. It may also mean that you have chosen to become successful and yet have forgotten about the call to obedience.

Some people choose accomplishments over spending time or having relationship with God. They choose…we…I, sometimes..choose to spend more time doing everything in the world to become successful in what we do even if it isn’t clear to us that what we’re doing is really from God.

Others say that one successful person is an evidence of God’s presence. This isn’t always true for success is not always a sign of God’s blessing. You may choose the path to success without a relationship with God. Yes, in the world’s eyes you are successful but would it really matter before God? Time with God is not merely a substitute or a means to achieve that ’success’. It is a way of life.

Success and riches are only temporary. But a relationship with God is that one thing you could forever hold on to. To value the presence of God in your life is better than all the success, wealth, and the power the world could bring.

Great achievements, a good name, a big house, a nice car, even a mega-church may be signs of success but if God’s presence isn’t there, then it is nothing..utterly meaningless.

What will you choose: climbing up the ladder to worldly success or climbing up the ladder to the heavens?
